First, let’s look at the term itself. Search Engine Optimization, or SEO for short, is a technique of enhancing a website in order to boost its exposure when a user conducts a search query through various search engines. Automated bots, often known as crawlers, are used by search engines such as Google Chrome. These bots would gather data from your website’s pages. And these gathered data will be saved in their system or server, where they will be organized and ranked depending on the many ranking parameters provided by the search engine. Some of the data that are being collected are keywords, tags, links, speed, and so on. 

So, when a search is done, and Google’s system decides that a certain site matches the components of content linked to the search, that site will be retrieved and presented on the search engine result page — also referred to as SERP, positioned depending on the site’s ranking, according to the established parameters. 

The SERP, search engine results page is the page or pages returned by the search engine after an user enters a keyword search query. A mix of search results will appear on the SERP.  Yes, there are two types of results here; the Organic search and sponsored/paid search. 


What is the difference between Organic and Paid Search

Organic search results are those that appear as an outcome of a search engine’s rating, whereas sponsored search results are those that are paid.

The search results displayed the same site but the first is a Paid search result while the other is an organic search. Paid search has a very apparent indicator that it is paid for, so you can easily find them while doing a search.
