Makati City

By: Executive Office

Release Date: February 11, 2021

Easycom has decided to permanently close their branch office located in Urdaneta, Pangasinan Philippines, while the employees were on indefinite work-from-home (WFH) arrangement.

As of January 31, 2021, Easycom’s branch office in Urdaneta, Pangasinan has permanently closed to cut-down on the company’s leases. After the Covid-19 virus outbreak last March 17, 2020, the company’s president, Mr. Yasuo Sugitani decided to implement temporary working from home set-up for all the employees of the main and branch office for everyone’s safety.

The branch office started operation in February of 2019 and has 2 employees which are later joined by different interns from the universities we collaborated with in Pangasinan. Since the pandemic, the office has been isolated and was only visited only after a few months due to important business purposes, but afterwards, the employee will be back to their home to continue their work assignments.

For the main office, the Administrative employees resumed work last May 2020 to support the client’s business operations, but the engineers were not required to return to the office; therefore, they continued to WFH.

During the remaining few months of 2020, because of the continuous efforts of the employees working from home to ensure that the quality of their work does not decline and base on the results of evaluation, the Administrative Office and the President have decided for indefinite Work-from-Home arrangement for the company’s engineers and developers and to permanently closing its doors in Pangasinan Office.

With the approval of the executives, the administration then right away processed all government required documents, prepared and eventually moved the office equipment and disposed of all other supplies that can be sold and completed everything by November of 2020. Lastly, the lease contract was no longer renewed and finally ended January 31, 2021.

In summary, the company has greatly been affected, but has gradually adapted to the changes caused by the global pandemic. Nevertheless, we have been continuously improving our processes with this “New Normal” and shall continue to provide the best quality services to our clients, at the comfort of our homes.
